Low Level Clouds

Low level clouds have their cloud base below 2km (6,500ft). They include four genera (click thumbnails for more onformation): -

Cumulus Cumulus (Cu) – fluffy clouds usually associated with fair weather
Cumulonimbus Cumulonimbus (Cb) – magnificent towering thunderstorm clouds that can extend throughout all three cloud levels
Stratocumulus Stratocumulus (Sc) – the most common clouds on Earth
Stratus
Stratus (St) – low “grey weather” cloud
